Reminiscing...

I've spent these wee hours of the morning going through old SUN stuff...and I mean OLD. Think '05. Think StarCity boards. Yeah. It's gotten me strangely sad! There was so MUCH activity in the community. Most of it silly, dramatic, fame-whoring...but exciting! Everyone was chatting with everyone. I missss it! Haha. It's probably not quite normal to be so into FSBS but, whatever.

I know Apple Valley was around way back when. Anyone else from the "old days" still around? (BTW I will NOTTT reveal who my sims were, hahaha. Way too embarassing! My dramatic, emo sims are dead and buried. :P)

If anyone else is around, anyone else miss it as much as I do? I know we can get there again! We just need to kick the community in the butt, get more events happening, and get more sims to talk to other sims.

It seems most hoods are just operated on their website in their own little untouchable world. This is For Sims By Sims, not For Neighborhoods By Neighborhoods. :P

  1. Was Ellicot your old neighborhood?
I am kind of new to the SUN. I just need to get my SUN ID mailed to me again (I keep writing it down but I always lose it). What neighborhood are you currently listed as where all the neighborhood names are? :)

  2. Now I'm curious-who were your old simmies? StarCity Boards are old, gosh, I think Apple Valley may have been Greymount then...I have to know now! :P

I miss the interaction then, I think the whole aging of TS2 may have killed a lot of it, before it was you knew that sim was going to be around for ages, but now-things are so weird with aging. I have sims in different hoods and because we play at different rates, the grandchildren of a particular sim can be older than they are!

I know Palatial Heights, Simmerville and Simborough are still around, but it's not anywhere near as large as it was before. Even the Food Expo and SUN Exchanges are not big anymore.

Who knows what will happen now that TS3 is out. TS3 further makes a simmer more isolated, I don't know if it's even possible to travel bewteen hoods with TS3.

  3. Hey, I'm still around from the ole' days! But you knew that. :P I'm late commenting, I know. Nothing unusual, right?

Anyway, I can't believe you were looking at the old boards. Masochist! I get kind of teary when I look at them. Good times! I miss the drama. There's something about having inter-hood affairs and really getting to be great friends (and great enemies) with sims from other hoods that's just... guh. It was exciting!

And hey Apple Valley, I remember Greymount! Gosh, you're from way back when too, aren't you?! :D

  4. -Simberry Fields, you're from way back then too! Gosh, I wonder how many from the current community are "oldies" with new names! I've been around for a while...now I'm starting to feel old :P

  5. Hahah, AV! I know, when you look back you think "Oh my god... I've been at this forever!". But it's nice though, you know? Remembering all the old sims, all the old relationships. Going through the old boards is like looking at an old photo album, and getting to (as LC said) reminisce!

  6. I tried to start ao SUN hood way back in teh day. Actually Greymount was what inspired me, bt I didn't understand the whole concept. LOL So I just started a site for stories: To Tell a Tale... Sim Stories.

It was fun while it lasted, then my game went belly up and I had lost all my disks by then. So I didn't reinstall the game, and then I moved on to Sims 2.

I would love for the community to be as active as it once was. I really enjoyed the Food Expo. Really, we should bring that back. I try to be more active, but I do forget about the SN boards. *gasp* But I want to do more with my fellow SUN'ers. I enjoyed have AV's teens come to Riverdale for soccer camp, and Simington Hills teen as well.

It was fun. I love teh traveling back and forth between the hoods. I want there to be bonds forged. Even with the wonky agign systems we all use, or the dates that we have. Riverdale is currently in the year 2011 and Apple Valley is 2004, Simmington Hills is 2007. LOL But despite that and the ages varying with sims, I'm sure we could make it work!
